what to expect.

{when to book}

Generally for maternity sessions, I suggest around 30 - 36 weeks. Please contact me about 4 weeks prior.

Newborns are best photographed between 5 - 15 days after birth!

Please contact me while you are still pregnant & provide me with your estimated due date.  I will ensure I have a spot for you ;)

{initial contact}

Once you contact  me, I will send my pricing packages  containing information regarding how many images you will receive, session duration & times available, etc.

{booking a session}

I will then send you a Client Information Form to complete & send back.  This helps me complete your contract.  We can discuss any questions you may have about your session.

{confirming a session}

A signed contract & full payment is due when booking/confirming your session.  This is to guarantee your date & time is officially reserved just for you! Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee a booked date otherwise. No images will be edited and/or released until final payment is made.  Your contract goes over all the details of your session including fees, turn around times, expectations & policies.

{communication}

After booking your session, I will be available during office hours for any questions you may have.

{the session times}

Outdoor sessions start in the afternoons about 1 to 2 hours before sunset to ensure the best light/results. Most outdoor sessions last between 40 minutes to an hour.

Newborn sessions are usually scheduled on weekday mornings between 09h00 & 12h00, and take about 2 - 3 hours, totally depending on baby's disposition.  Prior to your session I will send you a Newborn Session Preparation Guide with some tips to get your baby sleepy for the session.

{the location}

I have a few outdoor locations I am familiar with & like to shoot at. I will provide you with a list of those locations during the booking process for you to choose from.

Newborn sessions take place in my cosy little studio, where I have all props handy. During newborn sessions I do take family photos, if requested. But I ask that only the immediate family attends.  My space is limited & cannot accommodate large groups.  If you have older children, who might become restless during the session, I kindly ask that a family member may come & collect them.

{sneak peeks & delivery}

I usually post a sneak peek of your session on Facebook and Instagram. Your images will be ready within 3 - 4 weeks after your session.  I will email a link to your own password protected online gallery.  You can simply download your images directly to your computer and/or share the link with family members.

If  you have trouble downloading your images online, I can provide you with a DVD & you may collect same from me once ready.

{image quality & printing}

You receive high resolution digital images, which are ready for printing.

When sharing on social media, I kindly request that my work is not altered or edited by applying filters, cropping, etc.

I recommend printing at a reputable lab for best image quality.  I will send recommendations along with your finished gallery.
